Basque Country

On the Bay of Biscay in the Basque Country there are beautiful beaches but also wild coastal landscapes. On the Barrikaka beach near Barrika, the waves break on the various rock formations and, if the weather is suitable, the roaring spray can be photographically transformed into a fine mist.

The island of Gaztelugatxe in the Bay of Biscay served as a retreat for the Templars in the 13th century and as a filming location for the creators of Game of Thrones.

The "Puente La Salve" leads to the main attraction of Bilbao, the Guggenheim Museum on the Nervión River.
