Tallinn - the beautiful capital of Estonia

When cruise ships arrive, the tourist flood increases and many shops in Tallinn's beautiful old town, the capital of Estonia on the Baltic Sea, are now booming. But when the day tourists' shore leave is over, the medieval city shows itself from a different side. You can now enjoy the peace and quiet in the narrow streets of the cobbled old town, which is enclosed by a city wall.

Now the glassblowers also have time to make new items for the next tourist, but if you are looking for something, you will also find traditional craftsmanship and correspondingly beautiful objects.

The defense tower Kiek in de Kök from the 15th century, the historic town hall square of Tallinn with the Gothic town hall and its 64 m high tower, the Nikolaikirche, a landmark from the 13th century, the fat Margarethe - the list of sights is long .

Tallinn is located on the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea, about 80 kilometers south of Helsinki and is the cultural center of Estonia. The conservatory located here is known worldwide. We managed to get tickets for an evening concert and were already a little noisy when the lady at the ticket office, who introduced herself as a former singer, warned us something about the expansive nature of the evening performance. We were not deterred by this and received an experience of a special kind - we never would have thought that violins, wind instruments and xylophones could produce such high notes.
