The Saar polygon is located on the Duhamel mine dump in Ensdorf, the mine dump of the Saar mine, which rises around 150 meters above the Saar valley. The steel sculpture is reminiscent of the hard coal mining in the Saar area, which finally ended in June 2012, and at the same time shows the many directions of possible further development of the Saar industry.

The 150 meter difference in altitude to the parking lot can be overcome on a steep or a moderate path to finally arrive on the plateau. It then goes up over 132 steps to the cross piece at a height of 25 meters. The view is very nice and thanks to its exposed location, the Saar polygon is visible from all directions.
